The core of the AILS library collection is academic books in the social sciences and humanities that are relevant for research on Sri Lanka.  It is especially strong in history, anthropology and Buddhist Studies, but also has significant coverage of major works in other fields.  In addition to studies on Sri Lanka, there are holdings in South Asian and Indian Ocean history, along with some comparative and theoretical studies.  On-site users may access JSTOR.
