Welcome to ‘Teaching About Plastic Waste.’ This teaching module provides students with a case study of the global plastic pollution crisis. It also aims to inspire students to become engaged on the topic of waste as a core component of environmental dialogues. Plastic waste is a timely, cross-cutting issue, which can be addressed in courses on Social Problems, Environmental Studies, and Globalization. The teaching material allows the classroom to explore the topic from various angles, and form a critical analysis about the challenges of plastic waste, in both the Sri Lankan context and in the student’s home context. You can pick and choose which resources to incorporate into your course.
